noob witha 77 kz1000
11 May 2009 22:12
Hey everyone my name is Ty and i just got my hands on a 77 kz1000. thats what i think it is. the vin is KZTOOA-013438.
this bike has no title. So i was thinking of just getting another frame with the title and swaping everything over. But the bit is in bad shape right now. the motor is all locked up and car # 4 was on fire before i got it. the bike came with clubman bars and PO had a custom seat made. I'll post pic latter.
I was just wandering if any other year frame and size would work. like the kz900 frame or the kz750 frame( not the twin)
I looked around and didn't find anything on this subject.

You might want to contact DMV to see if they could pull any info on the bike to see if it is still in the system. I am not sure if the PO gave you a bill of sell but it would be helpful. You also might file for a paperless title if available in your state. The KZ900 and 1000 frames are pretty much the same it depends on the model.......good luck hope this was helpful.

These guys can help. It's less than $200 and way easier than swapping motors. I haven't used them personally, but they've been around for a while and are a legit business as far as I can tell.
Good luck!

well I can't really get a new title because its registered in Florida. and If i get another title and try to register it in florida a gain I could get my self in some trouble. and non of the title companies will do that. so yea i have to get a new frame with its own paper work.
bummer. but here are some pics of the rebuild for now.

the title and registration through its-title are maine titles. They also plate it and you can drive on maine plates that will be registered to your name for the year they are valid and after a year you can either renew the maine plates or transfer the title to florida.
