Pannier Rack Ideas?

Anyone have any bright ideas for hard bag mounting?

I've got my '78 Kz1000A broken down in preparation for a looming long-haul this summer. I've got most of it figured out...not cracking the cases, as they were rebuilt a year back and are runnin' right, but all new bearings, rubber, updated electrics, suspension etc.

Managed to lay hands on an old Hugon fairing, which should make the ride groovier, but haven't devised a luggage solution yet. I'm thinking of customizing pelican cases, a-la caribou case cariboucases.com/ , but not sure about the rack mounts.

Does anyone know of any old pannier racks that fit KZs? I can roll my own, but would rather start from a 'known good' if possible, and then customize.

Just a couple of suggestions... probably not much help...

KZ1000 Police saddlebag mounts
Shoei saddlebags - these usually have universal adjustable brackets. Sometimes the mounts are sold separately.

Sweet-jesus that's a sound looking rig! Unless I find something that works as an existing starting point rack - I'm following your lead.

Another option is always ebay. You can find a few nice looking universal mount hard saddlebags on there. Or you can sometimes find some used Vetter bags in decent shape. The mounting frames for Vetter saddlebags are very easily modified to fit most any bike. An example:
