81 kz 1000 csr super soft forks

Hey all, I'm brand new to the site and brand new to these amazing machines! I bought a 81 1000 csr and am in love already. Anyways just wondering if someone could help me with some super soft fork issues. I've done a little reading and am going to try putting a thicker oil in the forks and probably try the spacer trick too. The question I have though is, I've tried filling the forks with air (20-25ish psi) and they don't seem to hold the pressure for long at all. Is this a big deal? or should I just carry on with using a thicker oil and do the spacer trick?

they don't really like that much pressure try 10 pounds and if that dosen't hold you mght have to redo the fork seals also look at updating your springs try progressive suspension for new fork springs if you get the right set it will be the best money you will spend on your bike.also you can't just hit those forks with an air line to pump them up they can cause the fork seals to blow out use a small hand pump. and by the way welcome to our nightmare once we have you you can never leave.

thanks for the info!, could you recommend a place to get new springs? and also I would like new shocks for the rear... I've been looking and they seem to be quite expensive!
