GS1100 swingarm.. now what...??? was created by Mercymac
Alright, Ive got my GS1100 swingarm on the bike with the ninja rim and the pirelli diablo 180 in it, but no i have some questions. Where can I get a good pair of shocks to fit this kind of swingarm?? the bottow mount calls for a slotted shock mount versus the solid tube shock mount like the KZ swingarm calls for. The next thing is yes I know i need to off set my front sprocket.. but how much> can I get away with a 5/8 sprocket?? and what about the chain, what kind of chain do i need to go with??

You require a set of shocks which fit a Honda "Lead Wing" You can get them from BikeBandit. com and they are made by Progressive Suspension. Part #12-1205B. They are 14" long and will make up for the mounts being farther back on the swing arm.

The shocks from the gs will work, and a 3/8 or 5/8 offset sprocket with bearing support(only on the 5/ from what i have read on here.

I bought some new shocks on ebay for a GS1100 and they fit fine. My swingarm is very close to the frame when the shocks are full extended. My bikes sits just like your swing arm in the picture. Notice how close your swing arm is right now to where your exhaust bolts to on the frame.... mine has just enough room to fit a credit card in, but it never touches the frame.

make sure the rear wheel is pushed all the way to the front of the slots and tie a string on the back of the rear sprocket and pull it forward up to the countersprocket and measure between it and the string and you can tell us what offset you need.it seems to vary from bike to bike.
