750 twin swingarm swap? was created by flht1997
just playing in the garage now that spring is coming and the 750 twin is working its way to the front. the P.O. left it sit outside for over 10 years. it was in pretty decent shap and it took little work to get it running fine but the first ride verifid that something was not right. a quick inspection and i found the swing arm is rusted in place. after a few hours i was able to move it up and down about an inch. the pivot bolt is rusted to the inner sleeve and it does not really want to budge with normal removal techniques, i.e. BFH. i am pretty sure to get it out i will end up wrecking it. so the question is, i have a 85' GPZ750 swingarm with the shock mounts moved to the top that i had planned to put in my 650, but have given up that plan cause i do not wish to mess around with the drum to disc swap. since the 750 has a rear disc it should be easier. do the step remain the same? drill the pivot bolt hole to 17mm and intall just like before? anyone have insight or advice?

Do it right or don't bother doing it at all.

measure the swingarm across the pivots and do the same with the other swingarm see if it will fit there if it does it should be a peice of cake to do the swap.
