I have a seat I acquired and it doesn't fit a KZ900 or KZ1000E ST near as I can tell. A friend needs a seat for a 1981 KZ750E project. Is this a KZ750E seat? If not, what is it for?

Here is the bottom. There are a number of threaded holes towards the front. At the back is a loop so the seat catch is on the back and not the front, by the looks of it but the threaded holes may be there to retain some seat fastener I can't imagine.

Looks like a gpz seat on the top. Not sure of the bottom though. i know the 1983-84 seats went forward like that though.

I am almost 100% sure it's from a '78 Z1-R. The threaded holes in the bottom are for a bracket for the "emergency kick starter". The 1980 Z1-R seat is nearly the same, but the pattern on the seat cover is different. That seat is worth some $$$$, George!! Here is a pic of my '78 Z1-R seat:

I know for sure that the seat cover was a little different on the '80. I do believe either seat fits correctly on either year, but I haven't tried it. I'll try to find a pic of the 80. The pattern wraps around on the side of the seat where the 78 does not. I think that's a 78 Z1-R, it looks like it matches my pictures exactly. Those are going for $300 to $400 on eBay in excellent condition. (sorry if anyone wanted to make an offer!)

OK, found an image of the 1980. Notice how the pattern comes down onto the sides of the seat near the front:

Here's a 1980 750E1 seat. Note the pattern goes down the side. Don't have shots of the bottom though.
