Lowering Front End - 81 KZ1000 LTD was created by ninety8problems
Is there anyone out there who can give me advice on lowering my front end? If you can see the attached pic of the CB, this is essentially what I want to do to my bike...

I am planning on putting rigid struts on the rear to lower it a couple of inches, and I would like to lower my front end a couple of inches. Is it as simple as lowering the triple tree clamps on the forks? Will the "tops" of the forks just come up through the triple tree? Are there any other modifications that will need to be made?

Thanks for any advice and help.

Yes, you can just loosen the clamps and slide the forks up. I've got drag bars on my 900, so I could only go so far before the caps hit the bars. That CB is badass, by the way!

snapdaddy,

Thanks for the reply. I am glad that is all I will have to do. I was hoping to not have to modify anything drastically.

I have clubman handlebars on it at the moment, but I would like to put some clip-ons on it like the bike in the picture.

With clip ons you can slide the forks up has much as you want, as they have no bars to hit.

That's a Honda right? All you need to do is remove the front wheel. :P

one of the reasons that honda sits so low is that the front end has been raked and quite a bit from the look of it.
