Kickstand issues... was created by schmol
hello everyone, I'm cafe'n my 1982 GPZ750 and I am having a issue with the kickstand. I guess this question is for others that have a similar project...anyway, i used a set of rearsets off a '03 GSxR600 and mounted them using custom brackets off the passenger peg mounts and at this position, the kick stand is soo much in the way.

has anyone attempted to move the kickstand or bend it out of the way?

Nope, mine fit the rear sets, but just barely. You could make a new one, just keep your bike at the same lean angle.

When I install '04 GSXR600 rear sets only the side stand spring needed to be flipped around.
The attachment that fits over the spline shaft does not go on all the way because it will hit the frame, but I've had no problems with it coming loose or off in 2 years.

If I remember right, mine is off of a Honda nighthawk or some other <750cc Honda. It is cast with a bend in it that clears the frame, and barely clears the spring. If I move my splined portion one more spline then it will hit the spring or stand.
