Seat Options

What are my options for a seat for my 650? I really dont want to pay $300+ for a Cyclone from Europe or a Corbin. Are these my only options?

Check the local auto upholstery shops. They will do it for less than that.

+1 on that. Pull off the cover of your seat, either reshape the foam or replace it and shape it how you want it, and then take it to an upholstery shop to get covered. Probably still hit you between $100 and $200, but you'll have the seat you want for less coin. Or if you're handy with a sewing machine, or know someone who is, stitch up your own cover and do the entire seat for $30.

Being handy with a sewing machine is the easy part! Prototyping the layout of your seat cover can take some time. Im in the process of doing this myself,I say sewing is the easy part because my better half is doing that part! Wish I had some pics to show my progress, still trying how to do that to.

Someone here on KZR mentioned Sargent Cycle in Florida a while back. They're pricy, but the work looks to be top notch. Sargent Cycle Scroll down to the Case Study & click the link to see how a CB750 seat was done. If you decide to do it yourself, the pics & info there could be helpful.

That's what I did. I wanted something similar to the "Gunfighter" so, I got the knife out and started slicing. A local auto trim shop covered it for $150.

You did a good job on that seat. I was going to say my usual remarks about how all aftermarket seats are ugly garbage. This isn't always true, but be careful and sensable at least. There's some real winners out there. I can barely look at many of these seats without getting near sick.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
