Have any of you fabricated a tray of some kind to place in the area left open by the airbox to stow things in?

Lately, I've been entertaining thoughts about going with pods and thought that space on top of the battery would be good to stow stuff. I ride to work in the afternoon and come home late at night and have to carry extra things (gloves, clear glasses, head sock, etc) for the cool night air.

Maybe I'll find me some plastic and glue....

If you block that area in like with the airbox, you'll have less chance of losing your sidecovers.

After losing most of my original tools from a half-assed attempt to use a combination of shop rags and duct tape, I built a bracket that bridges the area above the battery and attaches to each side of the frame and to the rear fender bracket and a empty wet wipes plastic container. Now I can carry more things (plugs, points, fork air line, feeler gauge, etc.) Now if I only had a picture of it..

Sure it looks OK now, but wait until I really make it pretty, with some chrome and paint and some new tires and grips and the wiring. Don't forget the gearing, and the LED's and, and, and....
