Has anyone ever put down real stump pullin power to a set of spoke rims? I am now designing a build of a 1000. Plan is for soem heavy hitting power (120 hp+) I am now getting ready for some rims. I like the traditional looks of spoke wheels. I have a little concern about constantly adjusting them and also forgetting to tighten em up and loosing it caused by the power. ANy input?

I think that if your goal is to have a hotrod streetbike you will be fine with spoked rims...even with limited strip use...but if you plan on launching that thing hard ...well as always you will find the weak spot B)

i have used a sun 3.5" rim with bucanans 8gauge stainless spokes for over ten years on one of my little dragbikes and i have not any problems what so ever and that bike has about a 110 horse and i launch it at about 9500 so it can handle anything you can throw at it just check the spokes from time to time and when you do tire changes check to see if it is still true and you should be fine.
