Shortest Rear Shocks possible??

Find some rear shocks from one of the newer Honda 750 shadow cruisers they are 10.5 and nice looking and these bikes are similar in weight to yours.I have a set on my 79 LTD 1000 they work good and lowered the back about 3 inches.

knight rider is sorry for not jumping in on this conversation sooner, i am busy building my new 1260 nitrous motor, turn computer on about once a week.... Rebel shocks are nine inches. lowered the bike three inches. had a 18inch wheel on back clearance was close but never made contact I weigh 220. then put a 16 on the back, had tons of clearance. rebel shocks actually have larger spring coils than stock kz shocks they are nice and stiff and look cool, plus they bolt right on! good luck and welcome the wonderful KZ addiction, It is a magical journey, My sickness started with a broken exhaust stud.

With very short shocks you will tear the hell out of your "U" joint. It will be at a pretty reticle angle and wont like it too much.

Just to clarify this a bit, some stock sportster shocks are 13-3/8". Other stock ones I found were 11.5". The shocks made for lowering sportsters can be had (on evilbay) in lengths from 10.5 to 11 inches. Also found various lengths of the Rebel shocks. I'm in the market because some jackoff P.O. cut the stock ones on my 900A4 down to 9-1/4 in. and then put a piece of pipe over the shaft so they act like struts.

i guess i should have said 883 hugger shocks were 11.5 and 1200 customs are longer 13 3/8" those would be good for stock replacement shocks for us.
