82 kz750 tire width?
14 Mar 2009 22:03
I hate skinny tires, and this bike has a 110 (I think). I had a 120 on the 80 kz250. Anyway, it looks like I could go to maybe a 130 or maybe even a little bigger, but I'm not sure the rim is wide enough for a bigger tire like that. Anyone out there know? Anyone out there riding a wider tire on a stock kz750 rim?

I am pretty sure that 130 is the largest size you can fit on there due to chain clearance and swing arm size!

Awesome...much better than what's on there now (just wish it wasn't a brand spanking new tire with the paint marks still on it)! Was it a 130/90 or something other than 90?

I'm pretty sure if it's a 18" wheel it's only a 2.15" wide wheel. Even if a 6" wide tire would fit between the swingarm, it won't mount correctly to a 2.15" wheel. A 120/90 is pushing it to about the limit of the stock wheel, a 130 would be too large for the wheel. That's not to say guys haven't done it, it just goofs up the intended profile of the tire. I'll agree a 110/90 is not right too as the 4.00-18 looks much better, or a 120/90 for the wider choice.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I checked after posting, I do have the 4.00-18, was just guessing it was a 110 because it did not look as wide as the 120 on the 250
