Front Axle Spacing

Put a new front tire on my scoot and noticed that the axle is flush with the axle bolt on the left side, but there are about 2 threads showing on the right. Is that a problem, and if so, how would I fix it? Thanks.

If the appearance bothers you loosen the axle clamp nuts, loosen the left axle nut and tighten the right so it's flush, then tighten the left (on KZ650 this is 51-65 ft lbs)then tighten the front axle clamp nuts (KZ650 is 11.5 - 16 ft lbs) followed by the rear axle clamp nuts (same torque as front). There should be a gap at the rear of the axle clamp between the clamp and fork. Make sure the speedo gear housing is correctly oriented.

Thanks guys. But because of the spacer on the right side, I don't think the right side axle bolt can be tightened down any further. I guess if I have everything assembled correctly, I will have a bit of a gap on both ends, but perhaps more evenly spaced. Took it for a spin and worked OK, just wish that I owuld have looked at it before ripping it apart to see what "normal" is.
