Engine Mount Rubber was created by TeK9iNe
I've got my engine all apart for a super cleaning and lots 'o new parts.

Anyways, I had to knock the rod in the rubber engine mount left/right to get the small crankcase bolts out and while doing so, I've discovered that the mount rubber over the shaft is reeeeally rotten.

Anyone have any "inexpensive" ideas for replacing this stuff? I havnt seen anything on Z1E for my bike, and I'm already giving them like $600 bucks soon

I thought maybe some spray rubber stuff like Rhino Liner (truckbed liner) or something...

Peace B)

Thats awsome of you to offer ;)

I have an 81 KZ1000 CSR, with the stock J engine.

Anything close would be fine, I'm sure I could rig it up.

Cheers!

PM me.

I "REALLY" hate what I am reading here...LOL
"RIG UP " motor mounts? Sheeessshhh
Thats a scarey idea. Just sounds like more trouble down the road with vibration and maybe breakage. Probably both.
Man a dealer can't get the OEM rubbers for you?
I had the local machine shop turn down some aluminum bar stock for the rear rubber mounts on my GPz. It seems that all the J mdl. motors have this issue. Between age, torque, and them NOT being really a serviceable item. They just stretch and rot. BUT I still wouldn't replace ALL of the rubber mounts with aluminum. I mean something has to give somewhere.
Would be a real shame to get it all togeter and be blindly chasing a vibration that you eventually figure out is a RIGGED UP motor mount and then have to repair it correctly anyway.
Just my thoughts, NO insult intended !
GOOD LUCK !
