Hope i remember how to put it back together

I recently (finished half hour ago) tore down my 77 kz1000. Im replacing bearings and painting frame and everything else that needs painted. I was very nervous messing with 33 year old wiring especially since wiring is not one of my strong points. Im pretty confident about everything else just bolt it on... right... I am concerned about the steering head bearings because the ones I ordered from z1enterprises (awesome parts dealer by the way) arent the same. Just press them in right?... Thanks

they sent you tapered bearings and the ones that you took out where ball bearings right.the taper bearings i would stick the outer races in the freezer for a while and drive in with a bearing driver or press them in if your set-up for that.

the elec is not so bad cuase it is color coded and as long as it was working before you should be fine....there was a really good detailed bit about the methods to r&r steering bearings just the other day...try archives.... ....i use a sharpie and zip lock bags or blue painters tape and mark every thing as to what model even....i bought some stuff from a gal who's man died... but before he died suddenly ,he had labled everything,boxes and boxes,,, as to yr and model... that got me doing it...you never know....my gal may need a few bucks ...someday...good luck
