Just about any rearsets not made for your bike your going to have to weld some mounts to the frame to mount them. I have CBR front rear sets and ZX7 passenger pegs.

I use ZX9 pegs on my turbo, which are much the same. Made up some plates with threaded holes and welded them to the frame as Mark said.

I am trying to mount some rearsets off an R6. Here's a pic of my initial mock up. Simply took an 1/8 inch piece of aluminium and drilled some holes. Used the stock bolt holes in the front and I can play with the mounting holes to get them where I want and make sure there are no clearance issues.

Any thoughs or advise would be appreciated. I plan to use 3/8 aluminium plate and make it all pretty for the final product.

What you see here is about 12 1/2 inches farther back than stock. With my bars on upside down it is actually very comfortable but I'm not sure I will leave them that way. Still need to see if I will have issues with clearing the exhaust.

With your feet that far back you will possibly find your toes are pointing at the floor. And digging into it on cornering.

I installed ZX7's on my kz900, only lost ~ 2-3" back from stock position.

I used '04 GSXR600 rearsets on my '78 kz650.
I mounted them similar to OMR's zx7 pegs, to the frame.
The GSXR pegs moved the pegs back about 6 inches and up a little.
I've had them on for a season and a half, and love the position.
After riding with the stock position for over 15 years, the riding position was second nature. It didn't take long to find the new position just as second nature, and now I find when I get on a bubbies kz650 I have to search for the pegs.

@ RSTnick... Aw come on now, you just like the feel of the twin boys (nads) on the tank.....

Question, are you finding any difficulties in the shift extended linkage in your setup?

No problems shifting at all.
Well actually not true. When I bought some new boots mid season last year, I had some difficulty, but it was because the new boots have a larger/taller toe area.
I ended up raising the shifter by moving the connection on the shifter spline one notch.
Getting used to new boots is like .....
