Attaching bearing support to frame... was created by StreetfighterKz
While I'm fabbing on the frame I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on attaching the outboard bearing support plate to the frame. I've seen the plates that attach to the frame via another plate that uses the upper engine mount bolts and I've seen plates with small tabs that weld to the frame. I'm thinking that attaching the plate to the frame with a couple 8mm or 10mm bolts will limit the stress on the normal 6mm bolts that mount the plate.

I have a couple pics at home, I'm currently at work, that shows the two different attachment styles. I'll try to post them as soon as I can.

my d&g bearing support came with two lugs that you have to locate and weld on the frame yourself it seems like quite a strong plate i like it

Thanks TB. I'm designing my own plate and want to cover all bases before it's too late.

Here are a couple of the pics I mentioned....

that second plate is simalar to mine it uses round steel threaded lugs that you have to position and them drill your own holes in the plate to match up on the lugs that you have mounted on the frame.
