Rear Rim Question was created by Kawickrice
Need some help guys. My brother recently had a mild heart attack, so I thought I would give him a project while he was recuperating and could not work for a few months. I gave him my Yamaha RD350 that was going to be my next project. (I know, I know, I'm one hell of a brother)

The bike had an extended swing arm that the previous owner installed. When I got it it had jury rigged Kawasaki mags that did not match the front caliper and was a death trap. The mags I believe are from a ltd 440 with a 19 inch front and a 16 inch rear. The only way to make it safe was to go with the factory Yamaha front spoke wheel which I got off of ebay. The front is now good to go.

He did alot of fitting, shimming, measuring, welding, and alot of cussing to get the rear lined up, and functional, he now has rear brakes and the sprockets line up correctly.

Now here is my question. Since the front rim is now spokes, we were thinking about a spoke rear rim from a kawasaki that will be a direct swap with the mag. We arent sure what rim would fit the brake drum he is already using. We want a rim the guts would interchange with since its been modified to the Kaw rim already. Would anyone know of such a beast. I am not familiar with the smaller cc Kawasaki interchangeability. I know the great people from KZR can help.

Doesn't necessarily have to be 16 inch. Gut swap is more the issue.

The geometry for the front just would not work with the Kaw rim. The caliper would grab and just did not line up with the Kaw rotor which is thicker than the RD. The good point is I get the mags back for my 650 if we can get the rear worked out.

if thats a kaw mag thats on rear now and it works how about a 650 kaw wire wheel for rear ? i would think the spacing should be pretty close, drum brake controls should be easy to adjust i would think.B)
