The rack shown is a K&G universal. I have one that I used on my KZ1000E1 but it broke and I need to get it welded. Mine was too wide in the back and I had to use spacers to mount and the spacers stressed the mount point one one side when I carried too heavy a load and broke the bracket. K&G racks are about the best as far as the chrome and fit/finish... far better than the Kaw aftermarket racks (I have one of those now) which have lousy chrome and poor fit/finish.

Totally agree with you, WG. I've had 2 K & G racks on different bikes and they ARE well built and well chromed.
Buy 'em if you can find 'em.

The backrest is better looking than some vintage backrests as well and can easily be removed to just use the rack.

I am going to powdercoat the rack black to match the bike.
