Brake Rotor Identification was created by kenskz1000
Hi all, I have two brake rotors one marked 2N and other marked 2F, does anyone know what bikes these are from? I am looking for a KZ1000A rear brake rotor and not sure if it is either one of these. Any help would be great. Thankyou in advance, and happy new year to all.

The 2 in the first position says it's made in 1977. The F would be from May/June and could have been on a very late 77 or early 78 bike. The N probably November/December of 1977 and it would be a 1978 model.

It looks like a front one - is it 7mm thick (wear limit 6mm)?

The rear on the ltd is smaller than the a model by about 1/4 inch or so if I remember right. Are you using cast or spoked wheels?

I am using mag wheels, the bike is a 1977 KZ1000 LTD and my rear brake caliper seized so I am using a A model caliper. And you are right my LTD rotor is too small. Looks like I won this rotor last night on e-bay. Hope it fits.

Unless destroyed, may be possible to unseize.

It is unseized but piston was garbage and my A caliper is already powder coated and ready to go. I had it on the bike and sure enough the brake pads did not line up with ltd rotor. Its hard to tell by this picture but the rotor turned brown after seizing and limping home. Also a picture when built.
