How much do you think that i should torque them down?

I've worked on a few and I've never had a specific torque figure. Usually, you just tighten 'till there's no play (grab forks down front and shake) but not enough to restrict movement. Fork should fall to one side easily.

This is a common procedure which works well for me, 1st , tighten to @ 35 ft lbs, to seat, loosen & re-tighten to 8 inch pounds. a couple of quick checks after the fact are, seated uprite, left thumb on top of fame neck & upper stem bearing, apply front brake and rock bike forward & back. there should be no discernible motion. 2, bike on center stand w/front wheel elevated wheel should stay centered for @ 1-2 inches before flopping to side. 3. tight bearings feel like there is a weight centered over the steering stem nut when riding. proper tension is where, there is no clearance to allow beating/wear, and yet loose enough that the effort to move is nearly indiscernable. hope this helps. The KZ650 Kawasaki FSM calls for 19.5 - 24 ft lbs of torque. I would be very careful about going higher than that as you may damage the bearing races. Ed
