Will this fit? was created by cnyl
Hi guys. Will this fit my bike with out any mods? I'm having a hard time finding seats. Corbin doesn't list my year.

I concur with trianglelaguna that the ebay seat won't fit a 1982 KZ1000-M2 CSR.

The ebay seat fits KZ models having a ducktail cover over the rear fender behind the seat.

The 1982 KZ1000-M2 CSR is equiped with an elongated seat that doesn't use a ducktail.

What is condition of existing seat?

Good Luck! :)

Thanks guys.
:( Oh well.. Gotta keep looking. I'll contact Corbin to see if the can make one. I'd like to find a seat that's more flat with a little rise in the rear.
Patton.. The original seat pan has rusted holes and the cover is coming off from underneath. The foam is also not firm anymore. I'm not a fan of the 2 step seat.

I'd strip the pan and make it solid. Then get a few pics of ones you like and then take it to an upholsterer to get made. Once they shave the foam you'll be able to take it and see if you like it on the bike. If you do...have them cover it. ;)

Thanks. I just got finished taking the cover and foam off the pan. The pan is in bad shape.. It kinda flexes.. The only good metal is the parts i'd be cutting off.
What seat options do I have? I shot Corbin an email too.

If it can't be welded up I saw where a guy fiberglassed a badly rotted metal pan and it held up for quite a while. You need a pan to do anything so either that or just keep an eye and ear out.:(

Cool... Never thought about fiberglass. I'll knock off the bad stuff, cut it to shape, POR15 it then fiberglass it.
Awesome!
Thanks Locozuna ;)

I'm not sold on the POR15. I think I'd just rough it up and lay a few nice top layers on the pan. Your are just building up so you will lose that amount of padding. Use a release agent and you could make a fiberglass seat pan and keep your metal.

Release agent? Kinda confused.. Are you saying that I could make a pan using fiberglass, send it somewhere to have padding and a cover put on it then mount it to the bike? Or would the fiberglass pan just be used as a mold to make the padding and cover?
