I had to go this route anyways due to old ass equates to no clip on's desired on ZX636 fork tubes! The back just wouldn't be able to cut it on a long ride...

OMR

OMR I like that set up! One day i'd like to go with a front end like that and still use drag bars. I have a friend that has a bunch of gsxr1000 fork tubes hanging around his shop. I would rather stay all Kawi but i'm tempted to grab a pair and just go for it. Did you drill the holes in the upper triple clamp to accommodate the risers? What about the weight of our Kz's on those forks?

I bought a set for the Kawasaki ZRX1100 and they bolt up to the KZ triple tree. They are a little thinner, but the bolt holes line up and they work well.

Not a great picture, but it gives you some idea...

"Did you drill the holes in the upper triple clamp to accommodate the risers?"

Yes and fabbed a side diamond shaped interlock plate as well...

"What about the weight of our Kz's on those forks?"
If those old spring forks can handle it, not worried about the 636 holding up....

check with steel,i know the twins ive seen have rubber mounted bar mounts/risers so it might be easier to adapt something to one of those triple trees.B)

My Triumph has rubber cushioned risers and it really isolates the bars from the bike. Does a real nice job keeping the 3 cyl heartbeat at bay. Wonder why it's not used more?
