Z1 900 with v&h sidewinder, what front fender?
18 Dec 2008 22:32
Hey guy's, im going to be running the vance and hines sprortsman sidewinder type pipe on the z1 after the rebuild. As of right now i have a front fender off of a 77 kz 650 on there, but will i bottom the fender in between the header pipes under hard braking? Could i still use the stock z1 front fender? I was thinking about using the kz 650 front fender, but cutting it down a couple inches past the trees on each side. I think it will end up looking like a shorter LTD type fender.

I had one on my 80 also but it didn't look right with the square body but it looks good on the older ones. I'm thinking about getting another one for my 77.

I thought I read somewhere that the early model front Metal fenders on the Z1's (not sure how many years or models this covers) acted as a fork brace also.
