Anyone ever tried using a brass brush used in gun cleaning for reconditioning master cylinder bores? It would seem that the soft brass would be good for removing rust & other gunk from the bore with minimal damage. I've never seen a hone small enough to do this. It would also seem that a collection of various brush sizes would be useful in rust removal from a variety of places. Anyone tried this?

Ya know, that's a pretty good idea being that a gun cleaning brush has a long enough shaft to be able to reach all the way in there.

I used my Dremel tool with a slightly smaller than bore size brass brush to help prevent from accidentally enlarging the bore, then followed it with a nylon bristle Dremel brush.

It cleaned out all the gunk and rust perfectly!
I did this and installed the new rebuild kit about 2 years ago, and haven't had any leaks or a lick of problems since. B)
