gs wheel with my gs arm ? was created by donthekawguy
I picked up a gs1100 wheel with a 3.5 inch wide rim from ebay. Will this wheel work with my gs arm? The only thing I am concerned about is the offset. Guess I could check it when the wheel gets here but thought I would check in here first. If I could just bolt the arm up and use the gs wheel it would save a bunch of trouble getting the spacer situation figured out. BTW Harbor Freight has small metal lathes for around $250 that would be perfect for cutting spacers.

it should pretty much bolt right up.it sounds like a non stock wheel if it's 3.5 wide i think stock gs wheels were 2.85 if im not mistaken

I had one on mine and took it back off, didnt like the look. Swingarm fits with just a spacer and you have to use the Zuki shocks

I'm hoping the wheel won't be too noticeable. If it is I'll go with the kz hub and wider rim. Here is the wheel. I might even clean the red paint off.

that looks pretty cool but id leave the red rim and jusy clean the spokes up. old drag set-up from the look of it. i won two championships and two wally's with a wheel just like that.

My plan is to powdercoat the rim black, clean and buff the spokes and clean up the hub. I'll do the front wheel also. Maybe replace the bearings in both wheels. Other than that I'll just clean everything up real nice before I move on to the forks and triple bearings.

Don, offer this, since you've already stepped up to gs 1100 swingarm, why not lace a wm4 17" rim? w/530 chain and a little squeeze at brake stay arm a 160/70-17 fits w/a little fingers clearance on both sides, requires no new spacers at axle, uses gs slave, allows current rubber and in a width that dwarfs the old 4.25's. G. PS a call to Buchannans' frame works should yeild a quote for a rim & spokes. ten years ago, my total was @ $180.00 in parts.

I would but I want to keep this as cheap as possible. It's just my daily rider and I can get a 140 or 150 tire on it. With my 78 I'll be dumping a ton of money in it so I'll go with the more spendy parts.
