shaft drive rigid frame was created by paradon
i want to make my 83 550 shaft drive into a rigid frame. but i'm not sure how the rear wheel comes off, and i dont want to make it to much of a hassel to get off when i need to change it or the brakes. to me it looks like if you pull the axel out it should just drop down, but i'm not positive cause i've never had the rear wheel off. any info would be helpful

undo the torque arm going to the backing plate, undo the brake rod, pull the axle the spacer should come with it and pull the wheel away from the hub and it should drop down and be easy to remove from there.

yes you won't have any problems taking it out. before you put back together clean out the engaugement splines on the wheel and on the differential and pack freash wheel bearing grease in the splines. how low is that bike going to be it looks aweful low.

actually that is what i was talking about the seat height it seems to be a bit on the low side.
