got to feeling ambitious today and decided to drill out the sleeves in the downtubes for bigger motor mount bolts on my never ending z1 project,for some reason i couldnt find a sharp 7/16 bit so i figured id try a 1/2"!:S well now im having some oversized sleeves made so i can run bigger bolts!:laugh:

Uh Plummen, you do realize that 1/2" is 8/16ths thus equating to 1/16th larger than 7/16ths.... :huh: :dry: :whistle:

or if you prefer to the youngsters in the class 7/16 is roughly 11 mm. 1/2 is roughly 13mm. 2mm more bigger dohhh.

thats allright ill just have really beefy motor mount bolts to go with my extra beefy motor mounts !:laugh: it gave me an excuse to figure out a couple other weak links in the ol kaw frame design while im at it!im going to try and have it ready to go on the frame jig in a couple weeks to get the ol steering head chopped off and a new one installed and rest of frame straightened so i can finish steering head bracing.i want tomake sure im going in a straight line when i tie one on with timebomb!:laugh:

does anybody have the dimensions for one of those new sealed type batterys that can be laid on its side?while i was cutting and grinding and filing today i decided the z1 battery box was going to cause issues with mounting my coils under seat so i removed the mounts!so i guess i should start designing a battery box where i can load it from the side unless somebody has 900 battery box theywant to part with!(see cheap!:laugh: )

if i canfind a 76 900 battery box ill just use regular battery,if i have to design /build one i need the smallest one i can get that will turn the world over!:laugh: i need to figure out how to stuff coils,a battery nitrous and fuel injection controls and all the regular crap under the seat and still have room for a bottle on top/front of swingarm!:S

i have one of those battery's right here ill give you the measurement's the battery i have is an a.g.m from napa auto parts.it is an etx14. the measurements are as follows L 5 7/8" W 3 1/4" H 5 5/8" HOPE THAT HELPS BROTHER PLUMMEN

I have the old one from my 900. It doesn't have the piece that actually holds the battery in but I'd probably let it go for shipping (~$10). I can snap a pic if you want me too.
