Is it possible to run GS1100 fork SLIDERS on Z1 fork tubes. There is 1mm of difference between the two. Maybe Z1 fork seals in the GS sliders? I have just scored a 1980 GS1100 rolling chasis, and am planning a complete rear end swap and would like the benefit of matching mag rims and upgraded brake technology. The fork tubes from the GS are pretty pitted.

Also has anyone ever used GS slotted rotors on a Z1: I noticed both have 6 mounting holes and wonder if this is also an option.

the bushings in the gs sliders are 1mm bigger as well so it wouldn't work the axle size should be similar so why couldnt the front wheel and rotors be swaped over.you might have to make up some mounts for your calipers but it should work. this is a tough one because most every body that is doing front end swaps are using late model parts and i don't think i've ever seen a conversion using older gs stuff the only othersuggestion i have is see if you can buy a new set of tubes from an outfit like forking by frank they do nice work and reasonable i've used there stuff before .then swap the whole front end over.
