Are you asking about brake pads or a whole bolt-on brake assembly?

For brake pads Vesrah(SP) or EBC are both good brands but as for the calipers, pistons, lines and master cylinders try www.oldkawman.com or any good motorcycle salvage yard.

If you're looking for better brakes, there are a lot of options just using Kawasaki parts.

But if you won the lottery, I hear Brembo sells some nice parts :)

I'd really like to replace it all,get rid of the drum and a nice dual setup or decent front.

You can up grade the front brakes by adding a second disc and the later 1000 discs are thinner and lighter.

Having the brakes custom made is the only way I know of upgrading the brakes.(1976 KZ900 A4- sold) To the best of my knowledge, no one makes aftermarket brake kits for the older bikes (other than stock replacement types-EBC discs, etc).

on one of my 900's i run a complete aftermarket front brake setup,it's all made by grimeca, mastercylinder, steel braided line, caliper, rotor,i was runninig this bike for two seasons with no rear brake and it still stoppped really well,i do not recomend running without a rear brake to anyone im just saying this grimeca setup works great! it is single disk but you can run a dual.

Interesting question. I'm so far away from a motorcycle junkyard it's not funny, but does anybody here know if any more modern caliper will just bolt up to a KZ fork and match up to the stock disk?

i don't know about late model stock brakes being able to mount up because i've never tried it what i have done is look for z1-r brakes rotors and calipers and mount them because they bolt right up to most of the stock front ends.
by the way i have an extra set just kidding.
