Unfortunatly the seller cannot get me more pics because the bike is not at his house its at his parents and he's in collage. It is listed as an '82 kz650 with 39,000 miles thats all I really know about it. He does have it registered and he has the title in hand! I am going to pounce on this thing its a beautful bike. I would never chop this bike NEVER! I am thinking that I would want a bike I could actually ride. So I'm sure when I get this bike that I will be in love with old Kawis forever, I already have a major crush on them! :P

Go to bikepics.com and look at other 82 kz650s and the should at least determine if it a kz. Then the vin and other items can narrow it down.

I think that bike is a KZ550.

I think so as well.
Those side covers look like KZ550s.
It'd also explain the front fender.
Tail piece looks more squared off like the 550 than one on a 650 also.

do the 550s suck? I am 6'1 265lbs. nd I don't want a slow bike I'm gonna need some horsepower to get my fat ass around. I also am not into the fat guy on a little bike look.

Upon some investigation I see that the fender does look like one on a kz550. I am also looking at a 81 kz750 for the same price.... may have to go with that:S

KZ550's are fine bikes! I had a GPZ550, it was great. The 750's are good too. Get what you want. If this is your first bike, take the MSF class and get some good gear too.

I think it's a KZ550, vintage '81 - '82.
NO, 550s don't suck!!! And that seat is mother-lovin' cool! I think all that bike is missing is a "rider". If you buy it, you make it yours...but I sure wouldn't chop a rare little beauty like that thing.
Great bikes, seriously.

Ya that bike is freakin COOL. I'm just concerned that a 550 wont have the power that im looking for dont get me wrong though I don't want something thats way too fast for my ability. I do want something that will move my fatass around with some quickness! I also own a raptor 700 sport quad with 55hp and a 69 dodge charger with 550hp so I like POWER a LOT!

Well, at 6'1" you'll be a bigger person than that particular bike traditionally atracts; but I sure wouldn't underestimate that bike. I'm guessing that the power will be equal to your raptor, so pull the trigger on one before you (understandably) jump to the conclusion that it's a 27 year old half-liter UJM. I had an '83 GPz550 in the mid to late '90s that ran with everything in Topanga Canyon...everybody wrote it off until we got to the stop points and the two in front of me realized it was the little old Kaw RIGHT behind them; the rest of the plastic enshrined sleds were running beyond the range of my mirrors.
It wasn't b/c of me; they are simply a compatent bike. You can do a lot with 50 - 60 ponies b/c they're friendly and easy to use.

Well thanks for the useful info. I am thinkin about goin with the 750 if I can get it. My buddy is talking about getting a plastic rocket soon and he's already making fun of me because I want an "old" "slow" bike. Power is NOTHING if you don't know how to use it!
