Need a custom front axle

Hey guys-
I've got an 82 650 CSR with 79 750 front forks. The front wheel was mounted by using the 750 axle and machining it down to fit the smaller 650 bearings but I never liked the way the axle sat between the end caps, its to short. Long story short; I need to have an axle made up for this beast. Anyone here capable of the task or have someone they can recomend?

can you make a scetch with the dimensions? What material you looking to use. I can't make any promises but if it's all lathe work it might be something I can do here at school

I can do this, got some 4140 laying around which would be a good match. I wonder if your wheel is the same as mine, I've got a wheel from a 77 650CSR. If so you could just give me the dimms of the end caps and I could go to work.

Hey thanks for your willingness to help guys. 531 is looking into it for me and he's pretty sure he can fix me up. Just waiting for the replacement part to show up I just got off fleabay.
