What internal differences do the air forks have over the standard forks?

I bought a set of air forks from a 750 LTD to put on my 650. The problem I found was that the air forks used the smaller size brake rotors. I have a set of the small ones, but I had just went through the trouble of adding a second (large size) disc and having it drilled to match the single disc that came on my 650 LTD, so I put the fork switching project on hold for now. The smaller double setup would probably be an advantage as far as unsprung weight goes, so I still might do it, but then I would have to get the small discs drilled to match. I don't think the small discs would be a problem with braking, because there will be two rotors and I have SS brake lines.

I did not know if there were different seals and different shock valving? What is the purpose of the air pressure?

The air is just like an adjustable spring. More air acts like more spring. No use to it really if you have the correct spring in to begin with. The air always leaks out over time. Pain in the azz.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
