Tires for "spirited" riding? was created by twofocused
Hello all I am about to be the new owner of a 78 650 Custom and it is in desperate need of new tires. Now a little background, I ride pretty spirited at times and I would like a a sport touring tires that will have semi soft sides. The problem is that I'm having a hell of a time finding a conversion table. My bike needs

3.25, 19 inch fronts

4.00, 18 inch rears

What size is this? I think I found some 100/90 fronts by Pirelli and 130/70 rears but is this the right size? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Stay with 3.25-19 front and 4.00 rear. There are many good choices. Avon, Metzler, Continental. They are still available in these sizes. Dennis Kirk for one sells them. There is no "equivalent" metric size, but if you must 100/90-19 on the front is close (too wide and low profile), 110/90-18 on the rear is close (too narrow and low profile), or 120/90-18 (too wide). So there are a few choices. I ran 100/90, 120/90 for years and they are a good size choice on a 650, but 3.25 and 4.00 stock size is best for function and appearance.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
