"Does MRE have a web-site"... No Bad Kaw, don't do it....

Same time, this got me thinking where the AFAM GASX750 13mm (1/2") cc sprocket is the same spline as the KZ they may make a 520 version of this sprocket.

Example is the Zx-6 series where originally 530 and they're are 520 conversion kits available. Maybe they would have a 520 version of this cc sprocket at 18 tooth for clearance over the swing arm pivot tube.

Interesting find indeed...

OMR thinks to himself... If I only had the machining tools I'd make a whole slew of 18 tooth 520 13mm kz splined offset cc sprockets... I'd be retired within a years time for these guys would pay $200 each for them...

Looking at the AmericanClassix website I only see 12 mm offset available. Is the 13.5 discontinued?

racer54 wrote: That's good to know. I figured that you would need the 5/8 offset to clear a 180 tire. Thinking of putting some ZX6 rims on a bike and thought the 630 5/8 offset was the only choice to clear a 180 tire. How much room do you have between frame and chain and the chain and tire?

With a correctly centred 5.5" wheel you DO need a 5/8ths offset to clear a 180 tyre.
With a 1/2" (13mm) offset you will need to run a 170.
With the 5/8ths and 180 an 'O'ring chain will just miss the frame and tyre.

Anyone else chiming in on this? I have a 180 tire and 5/8 offset sprocket however have a small alignment problem. I thought maybe I should've went with the 13.5. Thanks.

I am using a GS1100E swing are with GSXR wheels. Used a 530 17T with 5/8 offset. I shimmer the wheel a bit to the right to clear my 170 tire. Clears the frame fine, had to clearance the clutch cover and a bung welded to the frame. There are pics of it in my build. There is a link in my signature.

From the centreline of a z900/1000 frame to the inside face of a 5/8th offset sprocket is 101mm.
(This is using accurate measuring equipment and not your mothers flexi plastic dress making tape measure)
This equates to 8mm of the sprocket carrier face of a ZXR750 or ZX9r 5.5in rim wheel if you are using one or obviously 101 mm from the centreline of any 5.5in rim you intend to use to the carrier face..
This gives just enough room for an 'O' ring 630 chain to clear the frame and 180 tyre.
This is with the wheel true centre .
No off setting the wheel by any amount.
I've done this at least 50 or 60 times over the past 25 years and four of my own zeds I run have had this done.
If you wish to use a 6 inch rim you are looking at sectioning the frame around the s/a pivot area and coming out another 6mm to clear a 190 tyre.
So that would be using a commonly available 7/8th offset drag race sprocket and the 6in wheel true centre.
This is what I have done on my latest Moriwaki turbo Z1R project with ZX12R wheels which I will be posting in the near future.
