Hello everyone,

Someone else may verywell have found this already but I didn't see it on here so I thought I'd post it for yall. Like a lot of other people on here, I've been searching for the right offset sprocket for my project. I wanted 530 chain size, 17 tooth, with the most offset I could run without frame interference, so I did a bunch of digging, cross-referenceing, and e-mailing and came up with this-

www.sprocketcenter.com/p/358784/afam-530...rocket---suzuki.html

The part # they list is not for the 13mm (just over "1/2) offset per afam but when you zoom in on the picture the part # on the sprocket is, except it's for a suzuki with no model listed that it fits. I thought I'd order it and hope it fit and it did! Hooray for me! It's in stock, only $64 shipped, and only takes 2 days to get. No nosecone to grind off, it's ready to go with no frame interference. I enclosed some pics for anyone who is still reading at this point:)

Hope this helps some of you on here because I know this site has been a HUGE help to me.

Thanks,
Ben

I think that just might work! What a find - I have spent hours upon hours searching and never did find that! I ended up getting a 530 13mm offset from Klasmo in Germany. Cost a lot more than that one. You can put spacers behind the sprocket to get whatever offset you need (sold at Z1 enterprises).

Let us know if it works and thanks!

Sheesh, you didn't run across the links I have posted to AFAM and the discussions on AFAM sprockets we have had? I have a 16 tooth on my 750E project bike, but I'm thinking of ordering the 17.

Problem is, I just hate spending that kind of money for a single sprocket :(

Things do tend to get lost here in all the postings, so by bringing it up again, you get it fresh in people's minds :)

This is a good find for the conversation of offset sprockets has been widely discussed.

In a 530 offset, the chain width is the same as the 630 but at least you get some different choices in color and rear sprockets available.

Now, if you can find a 18 tooth cc sprocket in 520, you'd be everyones hero.... You'd be placed right among the KZ gods, ok at least at their feet.

And your are correct in the offset where I have the 630 13.5mm offset with a 630 chain, about 1/8" clearance to the frame. Have 1/4" to the 180mm tire.

All in all, yes indeed, always post new/updated finds on parts finding.

when you are using these offset sprockets, are you're tires centered or are you offsetting them a little? My bike is using a 5/8 offset with a 180 tire and the tire is offset to the right a little. Not much but you can see it if you look closely. I know some machine hub to bring tire back, but have you done this?

I centered my tires and used spacers on front and rear sprockets to align chain. The stock rear hubs require a lot of sprocket offset for the chain to clear the 180mm rear tire. I set that up first and then set up the front sprocket to match the rear sprocket. Having a 6" wide rear rim, I had to go to a 520 chain on the MKII frame so I'd have clearance on the frame and the tire. 530 just won't fit.

OMR - might be a sore subject with you but...

over stock parts galore makes the 520 offset sprockets in sizes up to 18 or 19 teeth and whatever offset you want. I got mine done in a week. The work looks very well done but the only thing I don't like is it was a 530 sprocket machined down so the teeth are only tapered on the one side now. Looks kind of funky but probably should work without any problems. Here's some pictures:

arrrggghhh... Noooooooooooooooooooooooo MRE, lol!

I'm fully content with my 13.5mm 630 offset CC sprocket thank you much....

I have plenty of frame and tire clearance. I was mostly speaking for the others that had already powder coated their frames only to find the 5/8" offset was too much where their 530 & 630 chains where hitting the frames.

My rear ZX6R rim is 5.5" wide with a 180mm tire... I don't require anything bigger than that.

In comparing the quality in the images (MRE)... I believe the Germans have it it down.

That's good to know. I figured that you would need the 5/8 offset to clear a 180 tire. Thinking of putting some ZX6 rims on a bike and thought the 630 5/8 offset was the only choice to clear a 180 tire. How much room do you have between frame and chain and the chain and tire?

About 1/8" to the frame and 3/16" to the tire...

I think the MKII frame is tighter. I already had the frame powder coated and didn't want to start cutting on it. I'll know to check that for my next one. Build and learn!

Even with the 520 I only have about 1/8" on each side (tire/frame). The 530 wouldn't even fit on.

btw - lookin' good OMR!

@ 79 MKII... I;'ll bring my saw zaw over and fix that frame for ya for turning me onto MRE....

"Even with the 520 I only have about 1/8" on each side (tire/frame"

Well, that's about all I have (1/8" to frame) with the 13.5mm as well. It's going to be tight but since this is what they sell in their swing arm kits, I'm comfortable it will do. Just have to keep my chain properly tensioned.

Plus considering this point of contact being only a couple of inches away from the cc sprocket, the chain doesn't usually shift sideways, only up/down through travel.

Same time, I don't see where you have much of a choice. A 530 chain being too wide unless your going to modify your frame... Sorry my KZ brother, that would truly suck!

Definitely keep us informed how you fix that problem for others are having the same issues in their projects.
