Any STOCK 750 Twin Exhausts Ever Seen In the Wild?

All the talk about aftermarket exhaust systems... and the crummy performance of the MAC 2-1 I have on my 750 twin has me wondering:

Any stock 750 Twin exhaust systems available out there?

What would one in good condition cost?

If you do have an Kawi original stock exhaust in good shape that goes on a 1979 750 twin, I would like to hear about it.

Thanks.

You really don't like the Mac 2 into 1?

What did you find objectionable, or what problems did you have with it? I had one on a 79 and thought it worked ok, but my current 79 has stock 80 750G pipes on it.

Not so much.

It was a bugger to dial in. The off idle throttle response was terrible, I had to raise the needles all the way to get decent response..... and I had to crank up the pilot jets to #50.

It runs just OK. Power is decent, but not as good as stock especially at low RPM where I cruise 95% of the time (2 - 3k). It does not run as well as the stock pipes did, and way less than the Kerker style aftermarket pipes.

The gas mileage also is down from about 40 mpg to 36 mpg (all city driving). The reason is obvious: I have to open the throttle more to get the same amount of power.

The MAC that I have may be screwed up, I have nothing to compare it to. The thing leaks exhaust at both pipe connections. Thay may be screwing up the tuning.

Sounds interesting.

Do you know the year and model of 750 twin it's off?

Rust is only cosmetic?

No serious dings or damage?

All the keepers/brackets/hardware stuff with?

Can I ask what the cost would be?

I appreciate your time looking into it. Pics are always interesting if not too much trouble.

bountyhunter, IMHO you wouldn't be happy with the 80 750G exhaust, I have that on my 79 and it just don't look as good as the 76-79 exhaust.

I don't know what year exhaust RollingStock has, just thought I'd mention the 80G just in case.

I'm not that worried about looks... you should see my bike. It's looks as bad as it's owner.

I was thinking of getting a stock exhaust because the cross pipe setup has better low RPM pull, it's quieter and the mileage was better.

TELL ME: is it hard to fit one of these G exhausts to a '79 model B4?

The 1980 KZ750G exhaust bolts on the 76-79 750B, but you do have to make short mounting extensions so the mount will reach the rear footpeg mount on each side.
