Well this winter im going to swap the swing arm with a gs 1100 one. Mainly cause i just got a set of kz mags from an LTD 1000. And i also like the look of a polished aluminum swingarm. I have a question though. Will the axle from my z1, fit in the mags and in the gs swingarm? And the kz rear caliper will bolt onto the gs arm right? Thanks. Im watching 2 gs 1100 arms on ebay right now, hopefully i will win one of those.

Both the gs and the big kz (1000) have 20mm axles. But you may need the suzuki axle becuase i think the swingarm is wider. I am not 100% since my project was slightly different.
I did this on my 650 and there the axle is 17mm so i just used the suzuki rear axle and swapped my 650 bearing for the 1000 bearing.
However your caliper should fit fine.

It is wider but you can shim it to fit, as far as the rest I dont know. I had one on mine and took it off, I didnt like the looks. Your opinion may vary

I have a question, the tire that is mounted on the rear wheel now is a 150, will that clear the gs arm? or should i put a 130 on it and be done with it?

I ended up just getting an ltd 1000 arm from another member on here donthekawguy. I never did win those 2 i was looking at on e-bay. I did see a few after but were out of my price range at the time. I do know a 150 will fit the gs arm, i even think you can put a 180 in there, but have to have an offset sprocket of some type. I am still intrested in the gs arm swap if i find one.

Jim there is one on ebay right now. I think it has a few days left on it. They have been going for around $120 or so.

Try that link. It's a member here who is selling it. You will need to find an axle for it. I lucked out when I found the rear wheel with a 5.5 inch Akront rim already on it. But I'm going with spokes so...

a 150 wide tire will fit the gs swingarm. I know for a fact that a 180 will clear with about 1mm of clearance but it will requre that you have the wheel at the longest wheelbase setting as possible.

Gents, one of my bikes is a 81 GS1100e, I laced a Sun 18" wm4 to it, and run 150/70-18's it required clearancing the caliper stay arm, but swingarm clearance is @ 10mm each side.G

Checkout my "Z1-900 Stage II" link below for some pictures of what I did to fit a GS1100 swingarm to my '73 Z1-900. The rear tire is 166 mm wide by the way.

There is another one on there I found last night. I think I put it in my watch section. BRB Looks like they both ended. One went for $66.
