Rusty spokes: are there mag/allloy wheels that will fit 77 KZ-750?

There's some surface rust on the spokes of my 77 KZ-750. I was going to wait and see if it gets worse and then take care of it. Maybe put ospho on them for now to slow the rust.

The rims are fine, so I could go with a spoke kit (if available for a decent price, I'd ordered on efrom a shop but it never came due to availability) or go with some mags or alloys from another bike that would fit.

Anybody know if mags are an option?

Hmm... ask steell, but the rims from an '80 750 G should be an easy fit.... I'm sure there are a few other sets that might fit as well...

(2.) '78 KZ750B3 Twin - Commuter
(3.) '78 KZ750B3 Twin - Commuter

And you'll still not know anything about mag wheels for the 76-79 KZ750 :D

First off, the 80 750G has a drum brake rear mag wheel, not a disk, so you would need to change the swingarm also. This will work, I'm pretty sure of that since I did it to my 79 750B for awhile. :)

Secondly, Kawasaki sold an optional Morris Mag wheel kit for the 76-79 750B as a Dealer Installed Option. I have had two of those, the most recent was a NOS kit still in the box that I bought on eBay. I have seen two of those show up on eBay in three years of watching. Morris Mag kit has 16" rear and 19" front wheels, and the sprocket bolts straight to the bearing adapter (no cush hub), and no Kawasaki rear sprocket will bolt on, have to order rear sprockets from Sprocket Specialist.

KZ650 and KZ1000 front mag wheels up through 1980 will bolt on the 750B front end, but only the KZ1000 rear wheel will fit the rear. Some people have used 650 rear mag wheels on the 750B, but I don't like the idea as the 650 axle is smaller than the 750 axle. Meaning the axle can move around.

That ought to cover it :D :D

I just remembered...I have a set of mag rims that I bead-blasted,and was going to powdercoat them, but never did...pretty sure they came off of a 1000.
It's been too long,I don't remember.

Wow, thanks for all the info. Unfortunately I passed up buying a 750B1 or B2 parts bike that had mags on it years ago. It's still at the junk yard but is completely rotted out and the wheels are of course gone.

I guess that was pretty dumb. I'll keep my eye out.
