I currently have ape-hangers on my bike; I really don't like them. Wanting to go w/ something like Daytona touring.
What all is involved in changing out handlebars, as I'm pretty sure this won't be in my service manual. Is it alot of work? I currently have extended cables on brakes/throttle; would these need to be shortened, or can I let them stay long?

it is best to replace the cables and brake lines with stock length.if you do truly have ape hangers the cables will be to long to try and coil up out of the way enough to function properly and not look like a rats nest.

I just switched from the stock bars to Bikemaster GP touring bars on my bike. The clutch cable is a little long but still works fine. The brake line I wrapped with plastic wire loom because it bent back rubbed the tank when I turned right. The master cylinder just barely fit. In fact in order to keep it level I had to pull the grip back about 1/4" off the end. Bikemaster bars are cheap but they dont have the holes cut for the wires. I used a dremel and made the holes to run the wires in the bars, and had to drill the hole for the pins in the swithces.
