In my experience (KA Ching Tires...)they wear like iron and ride like iron. If you like to carve a road up now and then or a little more than now and then stay away from them. They have very little forgiveness or stickey (Thats why they wear very slow). But that being said It may have been an isolated event and sorry Dale but I bought a set of Dunnies for my old CB 650 a few years back and they chequed up on my in 1 year. I couldn't find my sales slip and where I bought them lost all old records so I was stuck with them. Left a sour taste for both Dunlop and the repair shop where I bought them. Your experiences may vary as it was an isolated incident. Plus the fact they may have been old stock and I did not check manufacture date back then. I been putting Bridgestones on everything lately and like them.

I put one on the rear years ago,I was all to glad to replace it.
In the rain the back of the bike would slide with the crown in the road, if that doesnt give you the pucker factor nothing will

They are not all that bad of a tire. In motorcycle tires you really get what you pay for. You pay $50 for a tire you're going to get a $50 tire regardless of brand really. The same size in the marquis sells for $64, Dunlop 404 $67, Dunlop 501 $100. Is there a difference in the marquis vs the 501? You bet. Is there a difference in the marquis vs the 404? I'd doubt because I've had the 404 and they are not a great tire believe me.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

It depends how you ride. If you ride moderately and don't push them, the Cheng Shin tires are fine. They are not high speed tires. I ran them for about 20 years. Mileage is OK, don't know about rain traction because I don't ride in the rain.

FYI, I'll advise why I quit ordering tires from JCWhitney: I can save money buying a tire at the local bike shop where they throw in the mount and balance for free with the tire purchase (it costs $25 with a carry in tire mount). After you pay for the shipping on a tire bought over the net, the savings are less than what the mount and balance costs.

I had a Cheng Shin Marquis on the back of my 750 and a Kenda Challenger on the front. My bike was scary on dry roads and almost totally unridable in the rain. Since I've installed my Dunlop 404's I've been caught in the rain several times ... a couple of those times ... heavy rain. The Dunlops don't scare me !!!! They handle fine. Dunlop durability ???? This is the first season on this set ... so far probrably just over 1000 miles and still lookin' and handlin' good !

Haven't used them and never will. Sounds like a brick.

Alas we have to swap rims and suspension to take advantage of modern tire technology. All available are forever going to be bias ply for our stock dimensions.

Pay the difference for a decent construction and rubber compound.
