Rear shock absorber leaking was created by SebRain77
Came back from work yesterday, parked the ride in the usual spot, then when I went outside with my kid to go to the park, I noticed wet dripping on the back tire's sidewall. I guess the shock is toast huh?

I am not sure if they are the originals, because they are all chromed, maybe someone would know if they came with chromed out shocks or not. In either case, are they rebuildable? Or should I just change it/them?

Just when everything was going soooo well! What will it be next?!

Here's an original shock just so you know what they look like. They are not all that great of shock, but I don't care. I doubt highly Harley Sportster shocks are any better.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Did you have any trouble with fit on your KZ? I seem to remember that Z1Enterprises was going to carry Hagons' but Jeff decided there were fitment issues with some bikes and opted out of them.

No problem on my KZ650C1. They fit perfectly and work great. I bought the "Type P" shocks (shown in the lower picture on the web link) with the stainless top shrouds (the shock body is also stainless), chrome wideline springs, and the alloy adjusters. If you look at #4 in the lower picture it looks like mine except the adjuster on the bottom of the spring on mine is alloy instead of black. The HAGON label easily peels off the adjuster and the adjuster is easy to polish up like chrome. My invoice says:

PRODUCT ID = HA S33007; DESCRIPTION = 33020 Custom SS KZ650C1; 20KG WIDE CH 14X24 10X19

PRODUCT ID = HA SCFBT; DESCRIPTION = CLASSIC I TOP SHROUD SS FB; ALLOY ADJUSTERS

If you're thinking of buying these, call Dave Quinn (203-393-2651). He will discuss the type of riding you do, you and your passenger and accessories weight, etc. and help you pick the best spring rate for your particular needs. He is a really nice guy and knows more about shocks than anyyone I've ever met. Good luck, Ed

These look very nice. Almost fell off my chair when I saw the price! Since I have a limited budget, I came upon a used set from a KZ750, I was wondering if it would work just the same? There is also OldBikeBarn that sells new shocks for $130. They look pretty nice. Any thoughts?

And another question, how long do you guys think I can go with that one shock leaking? I guess it could twist harm the frame?
