kz frame gpz stuff....

im thinking about buying a 82 kz 1000 frame to put my 82 gpz 1100b2 motor and body work on. will it all work? any differences between the two?

If your "kz1000" is a ´82 Z1000J then pretty much everything is interchangeable. In fact ´82-83 Z1000R aka Eddie Lawson Replica was made by adding GPz stuff to J (fairing, oil cooler, cams, piggy-bag shocks, low-cut seat)

ive been looking on ebay for side covers for my 82 gpz1100 and looking at the frame i bought to put my motor and body on and it looks like they are diffrent ones. im unsure what to look for.

What is the VIN on your new frame?

Well, you have a K frame (1982 LTD 1000)....the motor may fit but, the bodywork will not directly work. It is possible to make the bodywork adapt but it will take some work...it would have been a drop-on for a J frame. That said, Otakar (a member here) converted an M/K model to a GPz format...so if you search for his threads, he has photographically documented this metamorphosis. It might be cheaper and easier to locate a J frame.
