KZ1100 drivetrain in a Go Kart????

I've got a good 82 KZ 1100 Shaft drive running gear sitting in a messed up frame. I was thinking about putting it in a go Kart. Anyone done or seen this done?

Wondering how I would use the diff, or convert it to chain maybe?

Thanks,
MIke

Well, that's one way to waste a 1100 motor.

There are plenty of videos of 1000/1100/1300 motors in go carts, and they all have one thing in common, the tires just go up in smoke.

Even a 500 four is too much motor for a go cart, the traction is just not there. The power is completely unusable, so it's a waste.

But if you are determined to do it, convert it to chain drive.

I suggest building a small car around the motor, and making it road legal, if you can keep the weight down to 1000 lbs or less it will still be a lot of fun to drive, and get great fuel mileage.
