probably an often asked question on these here boards but I thought I would ask before I go stumbling into the local shop with no idea at all.
bike: 1978 k200
problem: tires are listed in the service manual as 2.75x18 4pr front and 3.25x17 6pr rear and I need to replace them.
question: a lot of tires I am seeing listed on motorcycle sites are listed with their metric measurements, I'm wondering what size of tires I should be looking for to replace these. are these stock sizes outdated? is there a more common, readily available size that wont cause a headache as I try to find some. it looks as though I can fit a slightly larger tire in the front and back , will that expand my options?
I'm looking for a performance tread. I'd like to have something nice and round and grippy, recommend something. cost not really an issue at this point.
