CSR & LTD parts interchange. was created by tarheelrooster
I would like to put a shorter backrest on a 1982 CSR 750.
Will parts from a LTD interchange with The CSR?

Are you talking the same year? And size ( 750 )?

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.

If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?

82 750 CSR is a 750 twin, 80-83 (or so) 750 LTD is a 750 four. And to make things confusing, there is an 80 LTDt 750 twin.

I don't know how hard it would be to mount the backrest off a LTD on a CSR, but I can tell you the Vetter Touring Package (Fairing, saddlebags, top box) off a 82 750 CSR went on a 82 1000 CSR pretty easily, and the backrest/tail rack combo off a 81 750E fit on a 79 750 twin easily.

The 750-M1 CSR Twin was only produced in 1982 and is a 750cc all other twins like the B series are only 740 cc. The 750-G1 LTD Twin is a completly different Beast and was also 750cc. Most parts that are on the 82 KZ750-M1 CSR will only fit that bike which makes the parts very hard to find, Especially since only 1,000 of them were made. So anything you find for it buy it if you can and most parts you find will probably be in the UK since 700 of them went there (This is info I got from a Kawasaki Dealer on Mine).

That Kawasaki dealer lied to you :)

Like McDroid said, all the engines are identical (with the exception of the air injection system and electronic ignition on the 82-83 models).

And the 80 KZ750G has only minor differences from the 79 KZ750B.

I have two 80 KZ750G's, and a 79 KZ750B that is wearing 80 750G body parts and has a 82 KZ750M motor in it, along with a mix of parts from other models/years of bikes :)

Just off the top of my head, my 79 750B has 80 750G forks, 79 Morris Mag optional wheels, 82 750M motor, 83 GPz750 front calipers, 79 KZ1000 front and rear brake rotors, 96 GPz1100 front master cylinder, and for awhile had 80 750G wheels and swingarm with the 750G drum rear brake. And everything bolted right on :)

Unlike your Kawasaki dealer, I actually have experience with the 750 twins :D :D
