Mirrors
30 Jun 2008 07:03
Just changed my bars to GP Touring bars, along with new cables and relocated turn signals.
Love 'em. Like a whole new bike.
But try as I might, I can't get my mirrors adjusted enough to be able to see around my shoulders.
So I'm thinking different mirrors are in order.
I've looked at the mirrors on fleabay and none of them look to be any longer than what I have now.
Any ideas?

I have the scrolled,"Kawasaki" mirrors, and they work pretty good,as far as length goes.
Not sure what YOU need for length, but take a look here...
MIRRORS
Maybe measure what you have, and what you NEED,for length, and post back.

The stock KZ1000A mirrors are the best mirror there is. I think the difference in the A mirror vs the stock LTD mirror is the stem is a little longer on the A so that would help the situation. Not cheap at $54 each though at bikebandit, but the LTD mirror is over $80. The A part # is 56001-1030 if still available worth the money. The trouble with aftermarket mirrors is many if not all of them don't use convex glass so damn near useless.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Aha. Sandy's just tryin to get me to say I need a couple more inches.
Actually I just measured them and the stems check to be about six inches. I did see some at that JC Whitney site that might work. They have the longer stems and you can slide the mirror head up the stem. They look like they'd be longer than the ones I have.
But I didn't find any scrolled ones that say Kawasaki. That would be cool.
Ron, I'm not a big fan of convex mirrors. I commute in city highway traffic, and there's nothing like seeing a car back behind me in my mirror, then realizing it's actually right next to me.
