Folks who are ashamed of their little 530's and secretly envious of those with 630's, might find it somewhat consoling to fab a full chain cover so nobody can see the chain, and could even paste a label on the cover that says "630."
Another label could be added that says, "If under 30, do not look under this cover."

Re: 630 to 530 Chain Conversion
22 Aug 2011 15:30wow and to think i sold my dragbike with a license plate because i was ashamed of my itty bitty 530 chain compared to omr's 630 implement chain on his little 1015! :woohoo:otakar wrote: Only the ones insecure with their masculinity. It's not the size of the chain but how much Horse power you have behind it. some guys just think that it's all just in the Chain.

As I said. "It's not in the chain or size of chain but how you use it" I am quite proud of my 530 chain and how well it serves me. :woohoo:
It transfers all the horsepower I can muster quite well and efficiently.   As a Marine I will put it this way. In the old days it was thought that you require a 30-06 (or later a .308) and a 12+# rifle to kill someone. today we can do it with .223 and a 6# rifle.

@Jeff. Thanks for that info. I did think about that. This makes me wonder even more about these 530 conversion sprockets I got from Thibeault. Maybe I should just stick to 630.

With all honesty and seriousness. There is NO REASON to run a 630 chain today. Since even a 520 is strong enough for our bikes a 530 is overkill for most of the vintage street bikes.

"No Fair," 'cause that bicycle chain makes the tire look way fatter.
