Drive Chain for my "79 KZ750B
17 Jun 2008 10:40
I was looking to purchase a new drive chain for my '79 KZ750B. According to BikeBandit.com, the size of the chain is 530x106. When I looked up this chain, many of the sites say not to use this size chain on bikes with more than 500cc's. Can anyone help me out here? Also, I noticed that the chains came in O ring and X ring styles. What would be the right one for my bike?

baloney. That's what's been on my '79 750 for 29 years now. That's the stock chain that came on it from the factory.

I just changed the chain on my 1000 to the 530, it will take the hp, dont worry about it.
If you go with the o-ring, make sure you buy the install tool, worth every penny, been there done that

I think the tensile strength of the top rated 530 chain exceeds any 630 chain currently manufactured. I'm pretty sure that bikes like the ZX14 and Hayabusa run either 530 or 525 chain, so I kind of doubt that a 750 twin is going to over stress it
Nothing against the 750 twin (I own a few and ride one), but a ZX killer they ain't
